Come and meet speakers from Ophelia’s Jump at our October 16 meeting at the Joslyn Center. Here is your chance to learn about the page-to-stage journey of Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing. How were the plays chosen? How do auditions work? Who decides the production style? How do lighting and sound operate on an outdoor stage? Lots of questions and lots of answers!
Past topics at our monthly meetings have included Shakespeare and the Bible, Discovering King Lear, and Observations of Race in Othello. This year’s presentations promise to be as stimulating as ever when actors, directors, scholars, and teachers share with us their seasoned insights, thus making the Bard relevant to us more than 400 years after his plays were first performed upon the Elizabethan stage.
Check us out at www.shakespeareclubpomonavalley.com or on Facebook at Shakespeare Club of Pomona Valley and watch for news of our meetings in the Claremont Courier and Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
All meetings open to the public and include refreshments. Our first meeting will be:
Monday, October 16, 2:00
(600 N. Mountain Ave., Claremont)
